I went to Retro on Roscoe on Sunday and had some refreshing white sangria and a nice snack of farfalle with sun-dried tomatoes and mushroom from Piazza Bella. Listened to music from the rumba flamenco group called Guitarra Azul. One of the best street festivals I have been to.

Strolling through the fest I noticed the sign for Lush Wine and Spirits that made me want to walk in and see what was inside. What I found was an impressive collection of wines at every price range; they also have $10 bottle section. The store itself is pretty gorgeous with wine glass chandeliers and an old-fashioned wooden bar. There is also a section for non-alcohol items like Salted Caramel’s “Bacon Bourbon Caramel Corn“, Jo Snow Syrups, gift bags and various other goodies.

If this isn’t enough to entice you, please note there are free tastings every Sunday, 2-5pm. Also “serious snacks” are served Tuesday – Saturday, 5-10pm. The staff is very knowledgeable and will help you pick out wine, spirits or beer for yourself or help you find the perfect gift. They will even take care of the gift-wrapping, personal & tasting notes and shipping. This will be my go-to shop for a bottle for a party and gifts. Who doesn’t like a gift you can eat or drink?
