Show up early to this cozy diner where the cool kids go because the food is good and lines start forming quickly. Cuban music plays and the staff is pretty relaxed so plan to stay awhile. This was one of my favorite breakfast spots for a huge meal in a fun atmosphere with great prices.
I had to try the Mexican style grilled corn I kept hearing about. It’s a gooey mess of a bunch of cotija cheese stuck to a healthy slather of mayonnaise and sprinkled with chili powder and lime squeezed on top. Sweet, sour, salty and bitter all in one bite, there really is no reason not to get this. They hook you up with toothpicks as well.

After a night out the Huevos rancheros hit the spot to fortify me for a days worth of hiking around NYC. Two sunny side up eggs drenched in salsa ranchera on top of corn tortillas and served with black beans and home fries. All delicious and the home fries were unexpectedly crazy good. I’m not sure what they put in them but you will not want to leave any on the plate.

Huevos con chorizo a huge portion of scrambled eggs with spicy chorizo blended in and a nice side of black beans.
Next time I’m in NYC I’m coming back for that corn!
